21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ON FASTING?
Pray to our Heavenly Father during a fast to seek His will, guidance, and provision for our lives. Prayer with fasting and meditating on God's word will strengthen our faith and trust in God. God will renew and build us up spiritually during a fast.
WHAT TYPE OF FASTING CAN ONE DO?
COMPLETE FASTING: Using liquids only, typically water with light juices as an option.
SELECTIVE FAST: Removing certain elements from your diet. One example is the Daniel Fast during which you remove meats, sweets, and bread from your diet.
PARTIAL FAST: Abstaining from eating any food in the morning or afternoon. This can either correlate to times of the day or from sunup to sundown.
SOUL FAST: Preventing health issues or restricting diet needs. For example, you might stop social media or television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring it back into your life at the conclusion of the fast.
Through these 21 days, join us on the Youversion Bible app as we dive into a fasting and prayer devotional plan. It is designed to encourage and strengthen you as you devote this time to walking closer with the Lord. The plan consists of short devotions and a Scripture reading plan for each day. We know that as you spend time fasting and praying, you will see God move mountains in your life!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF FASTING?
To intensify our dependence on God by weakening our dependence on food and other things that might be a distraction from God.
HOW DOES ONE CENTER THEIR FAST ON GOD?
Clarify the purpose of the fast. For example, for hearing God's will or to be renewed and strengthened spiritually. Specify the kind of fast you will do. Prepare your heart and mind and body for fasting. For example, remove food or the object/item being eliminated in order to set up for success.
